It has been an interesting fortnight since my last column. Turn on any TV news programme or open any newspaper and you will see at least one story about the credit crunch (which still to me sounds like a new breakfast cereal), rising fuel and food prices or the property price correction.

As regular readers will know, my main responsibility here at Archant Towers is the Homes24, Jobs24 and Drive24 websites. Having launched them last year, this year most of my focus is growing the audience of those sites.

Two things have arrived since my last column. Harrison Oscar Youngman who was born a day after the other main arrival - Heathrow's new sparkling and completely ineffective Terminal 5.

I don't know what you were doing over the Easter weekend but I don't think I was alone in my activities. Saturday was spent dodging storms in the morning while spending the afternoon listening to Norwich finally remembering where the opposition's goal is.

It's not often I get sucked in by a piece of technology, but this weekend I fell hook, line, sinker and copy of Angling Times for the BBC iPlayer.

You know a media is in trouble when one of the most popular things on it is birdsong.
I am talking about a digital radio station called Oneword, which was dedicated to (and I quote) “books, drama, comedy, children's programmes and discussion”.
