Additionally as a way of cutting costs etc do I actually have to appoint a company secretary?   Thanks,    Report

18/08/2007, 11:40 AM John Puddifoot Joined on 11/05/2004 Norwich Posts 2 Re: Creating a company run from home No reason why you can't use a home address for your registered office at all - as long are you are happy for people to rock up at your home if they want to find you! You will need a Company Secretary to be regsitered (although I think this rule is being considered for change) as well as another director (so minimum two people). There is a lot of advice about all of this through Business Link and your bank can usually help too, but don't assume you need to have a limited company.  If you're looking to save money whilst getting started, working as a sole trader might be an option worth thinking about. Either way, but especially if you go limited, I'd recommend finding the money for a decent accountant - they're usually very good at this kind of advice and will save you all sorts of hassle when it comes to dealing with the Inland Revenue (or Customs) and Companies House!
